Palm Sunday

Hi Everyone,

Happy Palm Sunday!  We heard a great message this morning about our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are entering  what some call holy week.  Today is the day remembered as Jesus entering into Jerusalem, where He would spend His last week on earth as a man.  Good Friday is only a few days away.  Calvary, where the Old Rugged Cross stood, where our Savior Jesus Christ, hung in my place and yours and He did it because He loves us so much.  That is why we call it Good Friday, because that is the day the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross to pay for all of our sins.  I am so thankful that Jesus is my Savior and Lord and that he loved me so much that he took my punishment and paid for my sins.  Next Sunday we will be celebrating Resurrection Sunday, a day of victory.  We will be celebrating because the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive.  Praise the Lord, God is good.

So as you think about this week and the events that took place over 2000 years ago remember we have the victory, because Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave.

My prayer and hope for all of my family and friends who read this may your Easter week, Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday best blessed and filled with all the blessings God has for you.

Make every Sunday, Resurrection Sunday, and celebrate the victory.

God Bless You All and Hugs,
Janet

ATC Cards

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share with how excited I am.  I have started creating ATC cards and I am having a blast doing it.  They are so much fun to make.  I belong to a swap site call minialbumscrap and we do chunky atc cards.  These are atc cards that are over the top, they are not just flat.  We create them using 3-D embellishments.  I am going to upload so of the ones that I have made.  Yesterday I made three atc card purses that are shabby chic and I think they are adorable.  Today I made three more purses, but they have a tropical theme and they are also interactive, they open up and you can see what is inside.

Well I am going to close so that I can upload the picture please enjoy.  And let me know what you think.  I appreciate all of your comments and followers are very welcome.

Hugs,
Janet

Swapping

Hi Everyone,

Hi, sorry it has been a while since I last blogged with everyone.  I have been doing some swaps with a new site.  Today I just sent in two swaps.  One was for ATC cards and the other one was for altered silverware charms.  They were both fun to make.  I have never altered spoons before but I am having a great time doing it.  We had to make three charms using silverware and I chose spoons.  I will have to post the pictures.  Another thing I have done with spoons is alter them to go along with my tea cup pin cushions.  These spoons are actually tea spoon pin cushions and they are so cute.  As far as the ATC cards they are fun to do as well.  These little miniature works of art can be done away you want them.  The first swap I sent in a couple of weeks ago was ATC cards as well.  We had to do four that made a scene.  I called mine Life in the Country.  The ones I just sent in with the theme of Birds, Bees and Trees had flowers and bees charms and little birds I made using stickles, with birds nest and eggs.  The host of this swap wanted to don chunky charms which gives you a little more room for creativity.  Any way they are fun.  There are four more swaps coming up that I can't wait to do.

Well I better go for now and upload some pictures for all of you to see.  I hope they inspire you.  Also the swap is:

minialbumscrap.ning.com

if you would like to check it out.

Don't forget to check out the pictures.

Back Home from California

Hi Everyone,

I am back from my visit to my daughter in California.  What a wonderful time I had while there.  They always make me feel so wonderful.  We had a great time together and did many things and created many memories that I want to share with all of you.  Some of those memories you can find on my other blog.  I encourage you to visit that blog as well, the address is:

nananovemberskitchen.blogspot.com

and I also encourage and ask to to join me as a follower on that blog as well.  I also enjoy your comments.

Any way getting back to my visit.  We did a lot of things at the house but we also did other things such as, hiking at Lopez lake, visiting Avila Barn farm market, visit the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens where the two girls participated in a candy making class, went to Solvang where I picked up another mini tea pot and cup for my Solvang collection, went to Santa Barbara and visit the mission there and also went to Streans Wharf, had lunch at Moby Dick's and visited the Ty Warner Sea Center.  WOW!  What a great vacation.

It is good to be home again, but I miss everyone in California.

Janet

A Visit to California

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while.  I am here in California visiting with my daughter and her family.  I am having so much fun.  She home schools her daughters (Kristy 10 years old and Abby 7 years old) and I get to help.  It is so much fun.  We have been doing botany, reading, language, math, ocean science and history.  She has been reading Shakespeare to the girls.  Right now they are reading The Tempest.  On Thursday and Friday we are going on and overnight field trip.  We will be going to Santa Barbara to the Santa Barbara Mission and the Ty Warner Sea Center.  It will be a lot of fun.  Tomorrow we are going to Lopez Lake to check out the plants and do some art projects.  On Saturday we are going to the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens and taking a class on how to make candy from things found in the garden.  My granddaughters are getting a great education with not only book work but hands on experience.  They are also involved in 4-H raising rabbits and learning other home skills.  They also participate in several co-op classes.  Kristy right now is taking a sewing classes learning how to use a sewing machine.  Last she made an apron from scratch. Abby will make one this week.

Well I better go for now.

Hugs,
Janet

The First Saturday of February 2013

Hi Everyone,

There is a light snow falling outside, it is cold, but the house is warm and cozy.  This coming Tuesday I will going to my daughters in California for a couple of weeks.  I am so looking forward to seeing her and her family.  I miss them so very much, especially the granddaughters.  They are so very sweet and wonderful and I am so blessed that God has chosen me to be there Nana.  While I am there the girls want me to do crafts with them.  One of the things I think we will do are artist trading cards.  I have just started doing them.  I will have to take some pictures of the ones I have made and post them here on the blog.

If any of you do crafts, no matter what it is I would love for you to share that with me.  Let me see your creativity.

Well I better go for now.  Have a super great day.

Hugs,
Janet
