Beautiful Sunday

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a couple of weeks since I posted last.  However, I just had to post today and share with you my day so far.  Church was wonderful this morning.  I am always inspired by the message of God's Word.  Today Pastor Skelly preached from John 7: 14 - 53.  It was great.  the message of Jesus and the salvation He offers to all never get old, it is always new.  Praise the Lord.

This afternoon Jim preached at the boarding home.  The people ther love Jim and he loves sharing God's Word with those who do not get out to church.  When he came home he grilled some hot dogs and we had a little picnic, just him and I.  It is so wonderful sitting out on the patio and enjoying our backyard and the beautiful weather.  With all the trees that growing in our yard we see alot of birds.  Next week Jim is going to get food for our finch feeder.  We have seen them as well as blue jays, cardinals, robins, sparrows, and black birds.  I love to watch the birds.  After we cleaned up Jim watered the garden and then I got out the book I am reading and sat in the shade of the trees next to my little herb garden in a pot and read for a while.  The scent from the herbs was wonderful.  I planted lemon balm, pineapple sage and lavendar.  It was wonderful.

Right now I am reading a book series by Colleen Coble, her Rock Harbor series.  It is a real page turner and very hard to put down.  I recommend the series.  I am looking forward to reading some of her other series.  I would love to hear about some of the books that you like to read or have read.  Leave a comment and let me know what you like to read.  I also love to read the Bible.  My favorite verse is Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is a gift from God not of works lest any man should boast."  I love this verse because it reminds me that there is nothing I can do to save myself.  Only Jesus saves.  Please also share your favorite verse from the Bible with me.

Well I better close for now.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Hugs,
Janet
