Spring Cleaning Has Begun

Hi Everyone,

Hope all of you had a great weekend.  We had a good Sunday, going to church and then to the boarding home where my husband preaches once a month.  We also got to visit with one of the residents there that use to live across the street from us.  She was so glad we stopped by.  Jim read some scripture to her and then she requested he read the story of Noah to her.  She is so sweet.  We then went home and spent a pleasant evening together.

Today I have started my spring cleaning,  Yep it is that time of year.  So far today I got the laundry done, the kitchen and dining room windows are washed and the curtains and drapes are in the dryer.  I couldn't have dome it without my precious husband Jim.  He is always there ready and waiting to help me.  I am so blessed that God chose him to be my husband and life partner.   My next projects are the china cabinets and shelves above the buffet.  Then it is on to the living room and the rest of the house.

Well I better close for now.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome.

Love, hugs and God bless you,
Janet (Kristy, Abby, Dulcie and Ngan's Nana)

Time with Dulcie

Hi Everyone,

So excited, in just a little while Jimmy and Brittany are bringing Dulcie over for Jim and I to babysit.  They were here last night for supper and a movie and today we get to watch Dulcie while they are out for a couple of hours.  She is such a good baby.  She laughs now and smiles a lot.  When she smiles her eyes smile too.  So beautiful.

Jim and I are so blessed to have such beautiful granddaughters.  Jim and I are so blessed, God is so good to Jim and I.

Well I know this is a short post, but I want to be ready when Dulcie gets here.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.  Stop by any time, you are always welcome.

Sunny but Burrrrrr!

Hi Everyone,

Today it was sunny but burrrrr outside.  That sunny can fool ya.  But it was warm and cozy inside which is fine with me.  Got some house work done and worked on the favors for our Ladies Alive Conference coming up in April.  I am excited about it.  The theme is "A Woman of Wisdom."  It is a two day conference, Friday evening and then all day Saturday.

Yesterday Jimmy, Brittany and our precious little Dulcie were over for supper and movie night.  I made Salmon Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms, Salmon Patties, Cheesy Hash Brown Potato Casserole, Green Grape and Strawberry Tossed Salad and Lime Flavored Green Cupcakes.  Everyone enjoyed the food and it was so nice all of us being together.

Well I better close for now.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.  Stop by anytime you are always welcome.  Please leave a comment.

Love, hugs and God Bless you,

Cold and Rainy Day

Hi Everyone,

Yep it is cold and rainy here in Vandergrift, PA  Snow is expected in any time and my schools and church activities are canceled tonight and tomorrow.  But spring is just around the corner.  I am looking forward to all the spring flowers that will be debuting in just another month or so.

Jim and I went to breakfast  this morning and then did some shopping.  Tomorrow some ladies are coming over and we will be working on the favors for our Ladies Alive Bible Conference next month.  I wanted to have everything in for lunch.  I am serving a tossed green salad with green grapes and strawberries.  We will also be having tea.  My friend Jackie is bringing dessert.  Then on Friday Jimmy, Brittany and our precious little Dulcie will be over for supper and I will be serving salmon stuffed portabella mushrooms, salmon patties, hash brown potato casserole, tossed salad and green cupcakes for dessert.  So yep I needed to go shopping.

Well I better close for now.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome here.

Love, hugs, and God bless you,

Beautiful Sunny Day

Hi Everyone,

Yes it is a beautiful sunny day here in Vandergrift, Pa.  It is suppose to go to the low 60's today and no one is complaining.  Pretty soon we will be outside, working the gardens, planting flowers and enjoying the great outdoors.  God is so good.

Next month for Easter Jim and I are going on a mini vacation just him and I.  We are going to Shiloh Resort in Cooks Forest here in PA.  It is beautiful there and we love it.  We have vacationed there before with the kids when they were growing up.

Cupcakes

Hi Everyone,

Yep it is me.  Hope everyone is having a great day.  I am fighting a head and neck ache, but otherwise it is a good day.  I am waiting for some Bible study material to come in.  CBD offers some great studies and I needed some new material to study.  I ordered a study on Ephesians, I Timothy and Proverbs 31.  They are three of my favorites.

I am still looking for some ideas on different kinds of cupcakes.  Please send some of ideas of cupcakes that you might make.  As I said in my last blog I have a couple of ideas but I really want to hear what all of you do with cupcakes.

Well I am going to close for now.  Looking forward to hearing back from you with cupcake recipes.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.

Love, hugs and God bless you,

Happy March

Dulcie with her Dad and Mom

Our precious Dulcie
Hi Everyone,

Yes, it has been almost a month since I last blog.  That is just too long.  I have been busy, but that is not an excuse.  I will try to get better.

One thing I want to do is share a couple of photos of my newest granddaughter Dulcie.  She is a real baby doll and we love her so very much.

Last weekend our granddaughter, Ngan, came in for a visit.  She was on an early spring break at college and decided to come for a short visit.  We had a blast.  She went to church with us on Sunday and Monday her and I spent a good portion of the day in the kitchen.  She knew I was going to make spagetti and meatballs and she said she wanted to help.  While we were talking after breakfast she also said she wanted to make cookies.  So we made meatballs and chocolate chip cookies.  Tuesday we went shopping at Jo Ann Fabrics and then we took Ngan to Top China Buffet in Lower Burrell, Pa.  She loved it.  Then we were up early Wednesday morning to take her to the bus station, her bus left at 5:00 am.  It was so sad to see her leave, but we are really looking forward to her next visit.  I promised her we would make cupcakes, she has never made them before.

I have a favor to ask everyone.  Does anyone have a great cupcake recipe that you would like to share with me that I can share with Ngan?  I have a few ideas in mind but I would like to see what others have as far as cupcake recipes go.  Let me know.

Well I better go for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me here in Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome.  Stop by any time.

Love, hugs, and God bless you,
Janet (Kristy, Abby, Dulcie and Ngan's Nana)
