New Recipe Post

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to check in with everyone and encourage all of you to visit my kitchen blog.  I have post a new mac and cheese recipe, called Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese.  Mac and cheese was a staple for our family when I was growing up.  When Jim and I got married he insisted on homemade mac and cheese, nothing from the box so over the years I have tried to do different thing with this favorite dish.

I encourage you all to give the dish a try and let me know what you think of it.  Also let me know how you all do mac and cheese.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here at Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome, so stop by anytime.

Snow, Snow, Snow

Hi Everyone,

It has been and couple of weeks since I last posted.  Many things have happened and I just want to catch up with everyone.  I hope all are doing well and staying warm if you are any where where it is cold.  We have plenty of snow to go around.  Yesterday it started to snow right before we got to church and it snowed the whole time we were there.  Needless to say we usually get home around 12:00 noon, not yesterday, it was after 1:00 before we got home.  The roads were bad.  We didn't go to church last night.

It is always nice to stay in when it is cold and snowy outside.  It is so cozy.  Saturday my Mom and sister with her family came up for a visit and they got to meet our little Dulcie for the first time.  Of course Dulcie made a hit with everyone.   She is so beautiful.  I will have to post some pictures soon.

On February 2 the groundhog saw his shadow so that is 6 more weeks of winter.  But that is predicted every year so I don't worry whether he sees his shadow or not.  Spring will come when the Lord brings it.  The Lord's timing is always better.  I do look forward to spring, with it's beautiful pastel colors in nature.  But until then I will enjoy the winter white.

Well I better go for now.  Everyone has a safe, warm and cozy day.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting here in Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome, stop by anytime.

Love, Hugs, and God bless you,

Burrrrrr!!!

Hi Everyone,

Yes it is cold and snowy outside.  I am so thankful to the Lord for the warm and cozy house I live in.  Jesus is so good to me and my life is richer and fuller because He is my Savior and Lord.

Today I have been thinking of my wonderful father-in-law.  I only knew Dad for about nine months before he passed away, but I love him and miss him.  If Dad was still here he would be 103 years old today.  He is in heaven with his Savior now.

It is so hard to believe that January is almost over.  WOW!  In just a couple of months spring will be here and we will be enjoying the pastel colors of that season.  But let's remember that all the seasons have beauty even on cold days like today.  There just something about the beauty of white snow on the green branches of the evergreen trees.  So as you think of the beauty of the upcoming season just a couple of months from now, look at the beauty of white.

Well I am going to go for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting, you are always welcome here at Nana's Parlor.  Stop by any time.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Hi Everyone,

Yes it is cold outside.  Tonight it is to go down to -13 with a wind chill.  So glad to be in my warm and cozy house.  I did have to venture outside and go to my chiro doctor's appointment.

How is the weather where you are?  Hope if you are in a cold area that you are staying warm and if you are in a warm area remember us who are in areas where it is cold.  I really don't mind the weather too much as long as I have something warm to wear, the heat is on and I can have some tea.  I will be having some Earl Grey here in a little bit.  It is one of my favorite teas.  What is your favorite tea?  I also like Harvest Strawberry and Passion Fruit Tea.

I drink coffee in the morning but in the evening I like my tea.

Well I am going to close for now.  Thank you for stopping by and visiting me here at Nana's Parlor.  Stop by any time you are always welcome here.

Love, Hugs, and God Bless You,

Snow

Hi Everyone,

I don't know what it is doing where you live, but it is snowing here.  We could get up to 3 - 4 inches and it is to go to -4 tonight.  so it is pretty cold here, but warm and cozy in the house.  I love snowy days when you can stay in and just watch the snow.

This evening though Jim and I are going to the Lower Burrell High Rise where Jim will teach a Bible study.  He sometimes fills in for the regular teacher.  He will also teach next Tuesday.  He loves teaching the Bible. I love going with him and being with the folks there, they are all so very nice and sweet.

Our newest granddaughter is doing well, she is a little doll.  Jim and I are so blessed to have three beautiful granddaughters.  Our other two granddaughters live in California and we miss seeing them.  We usually only get to see them maybe once a year.  Last year though I was able to spend quite a bit of time with them.  And they spent close to a month here so Jim was able to spend some  time with them as well.

Well I better close for now.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting, you are always welcome here at Nana's Parlor.  Stop by any time.

Love, Hugs, and God Bless You,

Under the Weather

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but the day got away from me and I ended up getting sick last night.  I am feeling better now, but being cautious.

Today I haven't done much, a little sketching, and doing some art vignettes.  Right now I am gathering the stuff I want for my next art journal page.  So I will be working on that for a while this evening.

I know this is short, but thank you for stopping by and visiting here at Nana's Parlor.  You are always welcome, stop by any time.

Love, Hugs, and God Bless You,

Personal Struggles

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great day today.  As the title says I am having some personal struggles.  I can not share them but I am asking for your prayers.  Praise the Lord for the most wonderful husband in the world show loves so very, very much and listens and is always there for me.

Yesterday Jim and I attended the annual Pro-life breakfast.  It was so good to be with people who not only love the Lord but love the pre-born babies.  We were able to fellowship together and pray together and share a beautiful breakfast together..

Today we went to church this morning and our granddaughter Dulcie attended her first church service.  I was able to show her off a little but her Mom and Dad were so proud to have their daughter with them in church.  Everyone loved her and thought she is the most beautiful baby.  I said, yes she is she is a November.  I think she slept through it all.  She is a good baby.

Well I hope everyone has had a great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting.  You are always welcome at Nana's parlor.  Stop by any time.

Love, Hugs and God Bless You,
Janet (Kristy, Abby and Dulcie's Nana)
